Religion or faith? Many people describe as people of faith, but are they? According to many Theologians, those who "Believe" only do so out of fear for an alternative. This being the case, why then are people with opposing views so hateful? Why do those who profess to be "Religious" seem to base their practise on the belief that their God will punish those who disagree with them, because what they believe and only what they believe is from God? This also is not limited to the so-called Fundamentalists.Bishop John Spong once wrote: "Religious systems are not primarily about the human search for truth; they are rather about the human search for security".
